The choices you make for survival
The choices you make for power
Libertines is a larp about a party slowly turning into a depraved nightmare.
In 1795, a group of wealthy aristocrats have invited a select group of guests to an exclusive party at a remote countryside manor. For a few days, there will be dancing, feasting, and some friendly gambling. The guests, elated at being chosen to socialise at such intimate terms with the gentry, are full of hopes and ambitions for their stay. However, as the days pass, a sense of unease creeps in, and the revelry takes on increasingly dark undertones. The stakes become higher, the romance is laced with poison, and impossible choices are laid before the guests – if they are given any choice at all.

The themes of the larp include:
- Historical norms and societal rules
- Abuse of power, manipulation and cruelty
- Having the uneasy feeling that something is wrong, but ignoring it out of politeness, and the fear of what would happen if you acknowledged your unease
- Choices made to survive in desperate circumstances
- The small things we do to comfort and help each other in a desperate situation, however impossibly small they may be
- Oppressing others to avoid becoming a victim yourself
- The moral decay and emotional numbness that come from pursuing every imaginable vice
